The determination of the sterilization time of the dental autoclave is not fixed. The lower the sterilization temperature, the longer the sterilization time required; the higher the sterilization temperature, the shorter the sterilization time required; It will be counted from when the temperature in the sterilizer cabinet reaches the required sterilization temperature until the sterilization is completed.

Dental autoclave sterilization times include these 3 categories:

1. The penetration time is calculated from the time when the pot reaches the sterilization temperature, and the time when the most difficult part in the pot reaches this temperature;

2. Maintenance time, that is, the time required to kill microorganisms, generally expressed as the time required to kill Bacillus stearothermophilus spores;

3. Safety time, the additional time required to ensure the sterilization of the dental autoclave is exactly guaranteed. Generally, it is half of the heat death time, and its length depends on the disinfection items. Sterilization of thermally conductive metal equipment does not require a safe time. During the sterilization time, pay attention to the pressure gauge, and adjust the intake air volume to maintain the pressure at the sterilization time until the sterilization time. During the sterilization process, if the pressure and temperature drop, the temperature should be increased and the time should be re-timed.
